Built on the firm beliefs of “practice makes perfect”,
and “you have to work for what you want”, DV One has become a mainstay in the Hip Hop community at large.

Since 1993, DV has utilized his finely tuned skills on the wheels of steel to reach the masses. Whether he is rocking parties, taking part in exhibitions, or teaching deejay classes (Tower Records, American Music, and Red Bull), he continues to showand prove. He won the 1997 Regional ITF Battle and an award for
his show on KCMU Radio (now KEXP), and was nominated in 1999 and 2000 for KUBE Radio’s ‘Best Mixtape DJ’ category for the Northwest Music Awards. Through all of this he earned notoriety and respect for staying true to his craft, always with theunderstanding that he was never bigger than the game. DV One realizes that there are always new things to learn and that there are hungry up and
comers who want his spot. Taking advantage of his accolades in the late 90’s, DV One jumped head-first into the mixtape game, where his blends and instrumental CD series received worldwide distribution and acclaim. This success brought widespread attention that lead to work with major clothing lines such as Mecca and Chronic Fatigues. DV has produced and recorded exclusive mix cd’s to showcase and promote apparel lines. Continuing on his career path, he began spinning at shows for numerous artists including: Raekwon, Busta Rhymes, Tha Liks, Kid Rock, Black Eyed Peas, Ras Kass, Arsonists, Grand Wizard Theodore, Beat Junkies, Mos Def, Eminem, Fat Joe, 50cent, The Roots, DJ Quik, Ice Cube, Nas, Public Enemy, Ice T, Kool Keith, Rahzel, Xzibit, Dr.Dre, The X-Ecutioners, Invisible Scratch Piklz and many, more. Additionally, DV One has taken part in the Rock Steady Crew Anniversary
celebrations in NYC since1999. He worked on the M&M/Mars “Twix In The Mix” tour, and was on tour in 2002 spinning for Super Natural, Source of Labor, Dilated Peoples and Jurassic 5 on “The Almost Famous” World Tour. DV assists in coordinating events as well as performing. Since 2000 he has helped organize events with ITF, Tech Styles, One Reel/Bumbershoot, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and the Experience Music Project (EMP). In 2001 he deejayed internationally with Rane Mixer Inc. to help promote and display their new battle mixers, the TTM 54 and 56, which he also helped to design. Shure Needles has also utilized DV One’s popularity and visibility to help promote their needles. Always ten toes deep in the game, DV One has proven that he is here to stay. He can be seen rocking Seattle’s hottest night clubs on the regular, including the legendary (and packed to capacity weekly)”Yo’ Son”. The night was highly successful on Sunday nights at Chop Suey, and in early 2004 was moved to Saturday nights at Neumo’s. Its new home is at the war room on Harvard & Pine. www.warroomseattle.com As an integral member of the legendary Rock Steady Crew DV One holds down radio, clubs and exhibitions. He has been written up in Vibe Magazine, Rolling Stone, Flavor, Rap Sheet, Remix Magazine, The Source and others. DV One’s talent has been used for over a decade by the professional music industry, corporations, radio and night clubs throughout the world. You can catch DV One on tour throughout the US annualy with Vinyl Kombat. Vinyl Kombat is the only major battle that features head to head competitions.
