Born in Providence, RI, Eclipse left shortly after his new beginnings as a DJ in 1985 to find a new home in Columbia, SC. It was there that he made his name as one of the best DJís on the club scene. Not even old enough to get in the clubs, Eclipse was djing at every hot spot around town. Classics, Fame, Rhythms, Club Miami, Club NY, New Image, Sandlappers, and every other hall that could be rented out to hold a crowd of party goers. This led to his own radio mix show on the biggest commercial station in Columbia, The Big DM 101.3 FM.

Also during this time, Eclipse was djing for numerous local acts and opening up concerts for the likes of Public Enemy, EPMD, Stetsasonic, and others. Eventually he joined the staff at Sounds Familiar record store where he had met MC Serch (3rd Bass) who was on tour promoting his new solo album. The two hit it off immediately and began to work together. With DJ Riz in tow, the trio went out on the road to perform and promote the release of Serchís album ìReturn of the Productî.

In 1992, DJ Eclipse left SC for good and made his way to NY to produce Serchís 2nd solo LP. But after relations between Serch and Def Jam went sour, the follow up solo album was shelved. During the next couple of years, Eclipse spent time filling in for Stretch Armstrong on his 89.9 WKCR radio show (and later on Stretch & Bobbitoís ìBoogie & The Barber Show on Hot 97). In 1994, both Serch and Eclipse landed at Wild Pitch Records where Eclipse became the National Director of Retail Promotion, until their closing in June of ë95. Over this year and a half period, he produced remixes for O.C. and N-Tyce while working on other promotional projects for the label.

Another person working at the label during that time was an emcee by the name of Sabac. Through chance encounters, Sabac met Ill Bill, who along with Eclipse and Goretex, formed the group Non Phixion. When Wild Pitch closed down, Eclipse went on to help out a friend who had recently opened up a little record store called Fat Beats. Through the course of the next 7 years, Fat Beats expanded and Eclipse went on to become Senior VP of Retail Operations, which included a New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam location. Through out this time, Non Phixion went on to release several critically acclaimed independent singles.

In his own right, Eclipse quickly became recognized as a pioneering DJ in the ìundergroundî hip hop scene, djing at clubs such as Wetlands, Vinyl, Limelight, S.O.B.ís, Martinez Gallery and most notably Tramps. Spinning every few months for Crazy Legs at his ìBreak Beatsî parties enabled him to join the world famous Rock Steady Crew DJís in the late 90ís. Eclipse has also dj'ed on tour with other groups such as Natural Elements, Arsonists, Beatnuts, Kardinal Offishall, Dynasty, and 3rd Bass.

Eclipse and DJ Riz went on to start ìThe Halftime Showî on 89.1 WNYU in March of 1998. The show airs on Wednesday nights from 10:30 pm ñ 1:00 am and can be heard worldwide over the internet at www.wnyu.org. It is the best show in NYC to hear both independent and major label releases and is quickly approaching itís 8 Year Anniversary.

2002 brought change for Eclipse with the long awaited release of the debut Non Phixion LP, ìThe Future Is Nowî, and his departure from Fat Beats. Most of the year was spent touring the United States and Europe with Non Phixion alongside groups like The Beatnuts, Talib Kweli, Mr. Complex, Afu-Ra ,and the Boot Camp Clik.

In 2003, Eclipse had partnered up with fellow band member ILL BILL to run Billís label, Uncle Howie Records. Aside from Non Phixion, the label has also put out releases from Q-Unique, E-Dot and Immortal Technique. Now in 2006, Eclipse has started consulting for Fat Beats once again and can be found from time to time at the New York location. Still touring, Non Phixion has performed this past year along side Snoop, The Game, Raekwon, Hieroglyphics, Jedi Mind Tricks, OC and many others.

Throughout his career, Eclipse has put out numerous projects and mix tapes. ìHip Hop Independents Day Vol. 1î (Nervous Records), ìGive the DJ a Breakî 12î (AV8), O.C. ìTimeís Upî & ìBorn 2 Liveî remixes (Wild Pitch), ìFractured Breaksî battle record series and most recently ìRemixes Circa 94î are only some of the highlights of what this DJ has accomplished.
